The museum was opened in 2010 at the initiative by the managers of the Concern Tractor Plants and with support from the Russian Engineering Union. The Russian Culture Fund and the State Corporation Rostec contributed to the project in all different ways.
The main value of the museum is a collection containing over 50 wheeled and tracked agricultural and industrial machines, including such tractor models as Fordson, SKhTZ 15/30, McCormick Deering, Universal-2, KhTZ-7, Т-28, Porshe, John Deere model D, Т-330, etc.
The museum also houses 600 collection models scaled 1:42 of various tractor equipment for agricultural and industrial use. Some of them are the fruit of joint efforts of the Tractor History Museum and the French Premium & Collectibles Trading Europe, which is carrying out 3D scanning of equipment exposed in the Museum.
