A sightseeing tour in Gorodets is a great opportunity to get to know this fairytale Volga town. Here the old unique buildings are saved, you will see the houses of wood in different bright colors, they are still decorated by the wood carving and have classic Russian patterns on windows and doors. You will also see the houses of stone previously owned by merchants.

Here you will have time to enjoy the beautiful Volga river views.

Gorodets town is a birthplace of unique Gorodets painting style and many other Russian handicrafts.

The guests will visit the museum of Russian “samovars” (traditional tea boilers). Marvelous collection of samovars contains more than 500 items of different sizes and shapes. Have you ever heard about “selfish” and “tet-a-tet” samovars? Or the fact they can be heated by charcoal, firewood, bumps and kerosene? This museum is ready to share its secrets, amazing stories and historical facts.

There is also the town’s main sight waiting for you at the Volga shores – “Masters town”.

Russian “izbas” (ancient rural houses) here are built by following the rules of classic Russian architecture styles. Here the handicraft workshops are taking place: wood painting, making the vintage clay whistles. Besides, you can visit the plenty of souvenir stores where you can buy the traditional teas (containing the Ivan-chay plant), desserts and sweets: “pryaniki”, “petushki” and others.

During the visit our guests will dive into the world of ancient traditions and rituals: Russian games, sports, songs and round dances.

Sightseeing tour “Hello, Nizhniy!” including the visit of Nizhniy Novgorod Kremlin.

If you like walking through the ancient cities, climbing the stone tower walls and seeing the streets where important historical events were taking place, Nizhniy Novgorod is a perfect place to visit.

There are old cathedrals and monuments, reminding of the merchants’ times or military history of Russia, unusual sculptures, interesting museums. Picturesque landscapes are another feature of Nizhniy, as the city is located at the place of confluence of 2 greatest rivers: Volga and Oka.

You will hear the stories and legends about the Nizhniy’s growth through years and the Kremlin’s building process. Kremlin is the large fortress that protected the city from raids during the Mongol invasion; that did not loose the ground even at the time of wars and “Smuta” (historical period of chaos in Russia); it was and still is the heart of the city.

Visiting the Rukavishnikov’s museum.

Museum is a spacious 2 floors house of stone at the Verkhne-Volzhskaya embankment. It was sold by the previous owner to pay off his debts to Rukavishnikov in 1840. Rukavishnikov was famous loan shark and the owner of the first Nizhniy’s steel factory. The house became one of the richest and well-known in the city. Generally, the house is a great example of big and rich manors of 19th century. During the excursion our guide will also tell you the history of famous house and its owners.

Bolshoye Boldino is the exceptional place that impresses everyone by its special poetic atmosphere. People come here to dive into the mood of romantic and mysterious 19th century: the era of Pushkin (Great Russian writer) seems to still prevail here.

Visiting the memorial museum complex “Boldino” including the visit of Pushkin’s house and the “boyar’s” (highest feudal rank) manor. There is the main exposition of the museum placed in the house of Pushkin: here you will see the original documents and manuscripts belonging to the famous writer. Also, the boyars’ traditional kitchen, “banya” and other rooms are reconstructed in the manor. Here you will find the ethnographic exhibition telling about the manor’s life at Pushkin times.

Walking through the Boldino Park.

“Boldino autumn” is one of the most famous and important periods in Pushkin’s works. During the period the famous poems were written: “The Belkin Tales” (The Blizzard, The Undertaker, The Station Master, The Squire’s Daughter, The Shot), plays “The Stone Guest”, “Mozart and Salieri”, “A Feast in Time of Plague”, “Queen of Spades” as well as 2 last chapters of “Evgeniy Onegin”.

Visiting the Boldino museum of Pushkin’s fairytales. In the museum you will see the exhibition recreated on the basis of Pushkin’s fairytales: “The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish”, “The Tale of Tsar Saltan”, “33 Bogatyrs”.

Sightseeing tour “Welcome to Saransk!” (“Shumbratado!” in Mordvin language).

The walk through the city will let you get to know this small but ambitious, sunny and cozy capital of Mordovia. We will go for a walk through colorful historical neighborhoods and major sights, check the Saransk’s views from a panoramic point and see the heritage of the FIFA World Cup 2018. Get ready to touch the history and traditions of the city, to learn the interesting facts about the local cuisine and have a small conversation in 2 official languages of the Republic – Moksha and Erzya languages.

You will know how Navy Admiral Ushakov became a saint patron of the land that does not have any sea or river and why there are so many foxes inside the city. Also, you will be surprised by the fact of how closely the Russian and Finno-Ugric cultures are bounded up in Saransk.

Visiting the Mordovia museum of fine arts named after sculptor Stepan Erzya. 

Visiting the exhibition of Ezya’s works. “Mikhail Vrubel of Mordovia” or “Auguste Rodin of Volga shores”these are the names that Erzya received from the European critics. Erzya was born in these places and now he is considered to be the greatest son of Mordvin nation. He started drawing at the age of 14, firstly known as just an illiterate icon painter, later he achieved success and fame all over the world from France to Argentina.

Thousands of admirers of Erzya’s huge talent are coming to Saransk specially for the world’s largest exhibition of rare works. Erzya’s works made of wood and stone are so impressive they can bring you deep down to the world of person’s mental powers, no matter whether you are looking at the sculpture of Moses or peasant kid. His art is inseparably linked to the Erzya (ethnic group) culture. Through his works he could show the colors and poetics of Erzya ethnicity. Person’s soul, emotions and feelings were the objects of sculptor’s exploration and are widely presented in his works.

Staraya Terizmorga village can be called a “pearl of the Republic”. Here you feel like diving into the ancient times: local women are wearing the historic dresses, in most of the houses there are still antique sewing machines, they let the locals amaze the guests with new suits and dresses each new season. Staraya Terizmorga became famous as the reserve territory of Mordvin culture, plenty of tourists come to the village specially to get to know the life of Mordvin peasants. In the last 30 years there were plenty of cultural researches conducted here.

Now the life of common Mordvin village is reconstructed here in the most detailed way: there is banya still having the smell of birch bath brooms, there are still the basements full of conserved vegetables, each family of the village still has its own “ogorod” (large vegetable garden).

The food is still prepared in “pechka” (traditional oven) that heated by the birch firewood – and that is the main secret of the dishes’ amazing taste and smell.

Sightseeing tour in Cheboksary is a tale about the past, the present and the future of the Republic of Chuvashia. By riding and walking through the parks, embankments and squares of the city, the guests will learn how the city was founded in Middle Ages, what the etymology of its name is, who the city residents are, what is happening with the city economics and what makes Cheboksary so attractive.

The city’s architecture mostly consists of modern styles, as it has been developing a lot in the last 100 years, after it became a capital of Chuvashia.

Visiting the museum of tractors.

The museum of tractors is the only one of its kind in Russia. The exhibition provides insights into the history of formation and development of the Russian and world’s tractor engineering industry. The museum is a good option for everyone who is interested in the history of engineering from the very first ploughers to those tractors that will be sent to Mars to plow its fields.

The museum also offers visiting the separate area where ca. 40 vintage and rare tractors are exhibited.

“Yasna” (Chuvash language: “Yangr uzeh”) is translated as “the bright place”. This is a small village where locals still keep the secrets and habits of their ancestors, the handicrafts and traditional houseware.

The residents will show the guests how Chuvash people embroidered, brewed the beer, prayed at the side of the saint oak. You will dive into the habits and beliefs of Middle Age Chuvashs who perceived themselves as the part of nature, prayed to the Gods of sky, winds and waters… The Chuvash women were hiding signs and wishes in the patterns of their embroider designs… We would like to welcome you to this wonderful and mysterious world.

Ethnic Izba “Una Kudo”: you will be participating in an interactive music performance, lesson of crafting the historic Mari talisman and special herbal tea party. 

In Una Kudo the household God called “Kudo Vodyzh” will meet you, he is always glad to have new guests in his house, as he is living in a special “celebration” house. The thing is that Mari people were renting (negotiating it with hosts) a house to celebrate the feasts or to invite the guests for the family evenings. The house was rented as the celebrations were always big with the half of the village participating in them.

You will be told about the rules and system of traditional Mari family and the secrets of making the house cozy, because Una Kudo is not just a house, it is a space of kindness and hospitality.

Sightseeing tour in Yoshkar-Ola.

Yoshkar-Ola (Mari language) is translated as “The red city”. “The fairytale city” is the name the city got from the tourists who have already visited its streets. The beauty of Yoshkar-Ola is extremely obvious, but you would better see it once, as it is impossible to compare the real city to its photos.

Before the Revolution the city was called Tsarevokokshaysk. The merchants’ houses were placed around the “bazar” square (and now the city Kremlin – the youngest Kremlin in Russia – is located here).

In the last 15 years the city changed beyond recognition. Within 1 small town you now can visit Amsterdam, Florence, Bruges. The city is also full of the unique monuments: it has the monument of Tsar Fyodor I (the son of Ivan The Terrible), Patriarch Alexy II, Evgeniy Onegin (the leading character of Pushkin’s poem), Lorenzo de’ Medici and others…

“Yoshkin kot” (“The cat of Yoshkar-Ola” – the city mascot) is also right there waiting for those who want to make a wish that will definitely come true.

In Tatar village the richest house is the house of Bay. The hosts – Babay and Abika (grandfather and grandmother) – are inviting you to be their guests. “The best feature of Tatars is their hospitality” – this phrase belongs to Karl Fuchs, the Rector of Kazan University in 1820s. In the house of Bay you will be able to try the national dishes: the soup “Tokmach”, classic pastries “ochpochmak” and “kystyby”. And the main dish on the table – Tatar tea with sweets: “chak-chak” and “kosh tele”.

Abika will also share the secrets of Tatar cuisine with you.

Tatar people have always had a rich spiritual culture coming through years and centuries to nowadays. National holidays are another important feature of their culture. Babay and Abika will tell you about the Tatars’ historic rituals – religious and non-religious: you will learn the traditions of wedding, “nikah” (engagement), the newborns welcoming rituals and many others. All of the legends and stories are supported by the Tatar national music, songs and dances you will be participating in.

Sightseeing tour “The legends and secrets of 1000 years old Kazan”. By taking a sightseeing tour you can enjoy the original beauty of Kazan, see the bright colors of its streets and squares, find out where the valuable treasures of Kazan “Khans” (governors) are hidden, where the pot boiled with no fire and many other facts.

The sights of a 1000 years old city are a mix of Western culture and Eastern traditions, you will see: Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda (the city area), where the Tatar residents have been living since 16th century; Sukonnaya Sloboda which is the area of Peter the Great’s industrial transformations; the Square of fountains; the Kaban lake with its secrets and mysterious legends; the small decorated Tatar village “Tugan Avylym” (Tatar language: “Native village”); new Puppets Theatre; Kazan Federal University; Ploshad Svobody (“The square of Freedom”) which is the administrative and cultural center of the city. Also there are the oldest mosque of Kazan – Mardzhani Mosque, and the Bogoroditskiy orthodox Monastery, where one of the oldest reproductions of original icon “Mother-of-God of Kazan” is kept.

The models will be demonstrating traditional vintage dresses and the collection of hats of 16th-19th centuries. The photoshoot with Tatar dresses in special stylized areas (the village, the city and the Khanate of Kazan) is also waiting for you, the printed photos are provided for free.

Visiting “Around the world” Ferris wheel. “Around the world” provides 36 cabins, each one is dedicated to one of the greatest cities all over the world: there are Paris, London, Rome, Moscow and others. The wheel itself is symbolizing the unity of the world’s society.

Each cabin is decorated with its city’s top sights, the national music is playing inside – it helps you to imagine the city’s landscapes and wake your own memories of previous journeys.

Visiting the museum of Chak-chak. The museum is the place where you can feel the atmosphere of common Tatar house and be the guests of an original Tatar family. Here you will learn some tips of the right way of cooking “chak-chak” (traditional dessert), you will find a real tableware the same as one used years and centuries ago and find out many interesting things about the familiar items.

It is said that Tatar people may not eat, but will definitely have a cup of tea. You will also be able to try the tasty tea boiled in samovar, the chak-chak, “baursak” (another kind of chak-chak), Tatar “pastila” (traditional fruit confection) and some old and forgotten dish that we restored for you.

The tour “White stone fortress”.

Kazan Kremlin is the central sight of the city as well as the UNESCO World Heritage object. The Kremlin is also an official residence of the President of Tatarstan and a Federal reserve territory visited by thousands of tourists every year. The white stone Kremlin is a heart of an ancient city embracing the cultures of East and West. The minarets of the main mosque Kul Sharif are rising up to the sky and the domes of the oldest orthodox Blagoveshenskiy cathedral are shining gold. During the tour you can visit the inner rooms of Kul Sharif.  There is also another symbol of Kazan located inside of the Kremlin – the famous “falling” tower dedicated to Suyumbike Khansha (Tatar princess).

The cooking class “Be my guest and try ochpochmak!”.

The tourists pronounce the complicated word “ochpochmak” in many different ways, still one thing is constant – each Tatar family loves the tasty non-sweet pies “ochpochmaks”.

“Ochpochmak” is translated as a “triangle” because the pies are baked in the shape of triangle. Tatar cuisine is definitely unthinkable without this dish.

Led by our professional baker you will quickly learn how to prepare the dough, put the fillings inside and make an original shape. So just be our guests and try ochpochmaks!

The tour “Yelabuga kupecheskaya” (“A merchants’ Yelabuga”). Yelabuga is the second most socially important city in Tatarstan. The city has the unique historical and cultural heritage, and we would like to welcome you on its streets. Feel the coziness and charm of this small merchants’ town. Take a deep breath of fresh air with the smell of Shishkin’s (Great Russian artist) forests, touch the silver past of the town in plenty of its museums. You will see the best sights of the town: Shishkin’s fishponds, “Chyortovo gorodishe” (the ruins of an antique fortress), the square of 1000th anniversary of Yelabuga’s foundation and the tiny old streets.

The excursion program includes visiting the memorial museum of Shishkin’s fine arts. The museum is the house where Great Russian artist had been growing. Yelabuga’s beautiful nature inspired him to create the greatest of his canvas. The most famous of his works no doubt are “Morning in a Pine Forest”, “The Pine Grove”, “A Stream in a Birch Forest”, “In the Wild North” and others.

Architectural and ethnic museum complex “Ludorvay”.

The exhibition of the open space reserve museum let us demonstrate the brightest features of the material culture of Udmurt nation. There are samples of northern, central and southern Udmurts’ manors are located at the territory of museum complex. Here you will also see the manor that belongs to one of the most mysterious nations of Russia – Besermyane. The life, the folklore and old traditions of those exceptional ethnic minorities will be warmly introduced to you.

The park near the museum contains plenty of mythological characters’ sculptures. Besides, you will be able to see the “Kuala” and “Kualud” (saint building and saint grove) – all of this will let you get in touch with the deep spiritual heritage of Udmurt people.

Visiting the museum complex named after Kalashnikov.

The museum narrations’ leading role is given to Mikhail Kalashnikov who was some kind of the “Kilometre Zero” of Izhevsk’s history of specialists in arms and armors, as now Izhevsk is considered to be the most important center of the weapons culture.

Sightseeing tour in Izhevsk. In the heart of Russia there is the place where Europe and Asia meet, where the great steppes are coming right to the edge of taiga forests, where the mysterious land is surrounded by plenty of rivers and springs, where the ancient nation has been living since the dawn of time. This place is Udmurtia.

The capital of Udmurtia is Izhevsk city. During the sightseeing tour you will learn the city’s history and the destinies of its residents. Izhevsk was built as a surrounding of fabrics and its growth was supported by machine building and metal industries.

The city also has the beautiful cathedrals, unusual monuments, interesting museums and attractive green parks.

Near Izhevsk there is a small town Votkinsk which is the birthplace of the Great Russian composer Chaykovskiy. And the pond of Votkinsk became a prototype of a famous “Swan Lake”.

Kalashnikov invented the famous AK-47 in Izhevsk, so now the city has a large museum dedicated to him.

“Buranovskiye Babushki” (Russian ethnic music band) still sing Udmurt songs and accept the tourists from all over the world.

During the class we will teach you to cook the real Udmurt “pelmeni” (classic Russian dumplings). Exactly the ancient territories of Udmurtia were a birthplace of a dish that soon became widely known in other regions of country and is now considered to be the main dish of the Russian cuisine. The dish started its journey from Udmurtia to the furthest corners of Russia to become a lovely part of each dinner. Udmurt people still consider pelmeni as not just a tasty dish, but a favorite national tradition.

Visiting the museum of Chaykovskiy. Young Pyotr Chaikovskiy was born here in Votkinsk in 1841. The boy will later become one of the most famous composers of the world. The manor where the museum is located has a pretty big territory: there are the house of the Votkinsk Fabric’s owner, the greenhouse, the kids’ town, the servant’s hall and other objects located here.

Russia was the homeland of loads of famous composers. The concerts of their compositions are still taking places in the biggest concert halls all over the world and Chaykovskiy is not an exception here, his famous works are: “Evgeeniy Onegin”, “The Queen of Spades”, “The Seasons”, “Swan Lake”.

Sarapul is one of the oldest towns of Kama river region.  Because of its large architectural heritage Sarapul now can definitely be called “the Udmurt Suzdal” (Suzdal is included in Russia’s Golden Ring). The town’s rich history is a great attraction for tourists coming to Russia. The biographies of many cultural figures and scientists and the history of the town are closely linked to each other.

Dacha of Bashenin (“dacha” is the seasonal cottage house of Russians) is one of the most beautiful buildings in Sarapul. It carefully keeps the heritage of the past times inside of its rooms. The owner of the house was a merchant and city governor Bashenin who played a huge role in city’s development and growth.

You will be participating in an interactive theatricalized show.

“Merchants’ dinner” in Sarapul (gastronomic tour).

The beef soup with spelt grain, the “kundyumy” (another kind of pelmeni with no meat), “hrenovuha” (type of strong vodka), alcoholic cranberry drinks, the Bashenin’s pie and a carrot tea. The gastronomic tour is a good chance to try all of these dishes and hear some great stories about Albert Einstein who is also linked to the history of these places.
